After cleaning, you hear about moss killers, water repellents, oil repellents… It is not always easy to make sense of it all. Here, in plain terms, is what each treatment is for.
Moss treatment: the basis, before cleaning
Contrary to popular belief, the moss treatment is applied before pressure washing, not after. It kills moss, algae and lichen down to the root, so that cleaning is more effective and the result lasts longer. It is the step that makes all the difference between a surface clean and genuine moss removal.
Water repellent: keeping water out
Applied once dry, a water repellent limits water absorption by porous surfaces (stone, concrete, clay pavers). The result: moss finds it harder to take hold, and your patio stays crisp for much longer. It is the ideal option for cleaning less often.
Oil repellent: against greasy stains
An oil repellent protects against oil and grease stains. It is mainly useful on car parks, courtyards and parking areas, where hydrocarbons quickly soak into the surface.
Which one for which surface?

- Paving and clay pavers: moss treatment + re-sanding, optional water repellent;
- Wooden deck: gentle cleaning + oil / wood saturator (see wooden deck cleaning);
