The problem with joints
On a paved driveway, dirt mainly settles in the joints: moss, soil, weeds whose roots gradually destabilise the laying pattern. Pressure washing is the ideal tool for removing all of it — provided the next step is handled properly.
Why re-sanding is essential
The pressure jet washes out some of the jointing sand, and that is a good thing: this old sand, colonised by spores and roots, needs renewing. Re-sanding restores the pavers' stability and keeps weeds away for the long term.
Our complete service therefore includes:
- applying a moss treatment before cleaning;
- pressure washing of the pavers and joints;
- re-sanding with fine sand (0–2 mm), or with polymeric sand, which hardens and keeps weeds out for the long term.
